What is each chakra responsible for and how does it maintain body health?

Illness is not a condition that is solely related to your body. Poor lifestyle choices such as smoking, drinking, and ill-nutrition are as much responsible for the degradation of physical health as is mental wellness. The way an individual feels towards life is the biggest contributor to both physical and mental well-being. The lifestyle that an individual is leading, the conversation that the person makes every day, the thoughts and feelings that you are hiding deep inside you are bound to affect your well-being, which includes both physical and mental. Staying well psychologically plays a very important role in determining the overall fitness of the body. Psychological fitness is greatly related to the 7 chakras and whether they are working in a balanced way inside the body.

How does the balancing of chakras help in general well-being?

It is very important to know your chakras to understand how the balancing and opening of each chakra purge the negative energy from the body and mind and not only promotes good health but also feels your consciousness with a purpose and positivity. As per ancient scriptures like the Vedas, the 7 chakras are considered to be the powerhouse of strength and spirituality in the human body. These centers of spirituality are referred to as discs because they resemble the wheels of the chariot when depicted visually.

The crown chakra which is located in the brain derives positive energy from the cosmic universe. This positive energy then moves downwards to each chakra, opening and balancing them as it moves and removes the negative emotions and energies surrounding our body and mind. A fully operational and balanced chakra is very similar to the image of a human body where all the organs are performing optimally. If a chakra is closed and not allowing the energy to pass through it optimally, it will result in an imbalance of the body and can result not only in depression but also in general illnesses.
